Zeb has no idea that he is so big: He truly believes that he belongs on your lap and he just assumes he should always be part of a family hug. (see photo section for example!).
Zeb epitomizes the classic Chinook description of a strong, loyal, loving, family dog who is just as happy being active as lying by the woodstove. Zeb loves children, adults, other dogs and especially our three cats. Even people that "don't like dogs" frequently tell us how wonderful and kind Zeb is.
Nothing makes Zeb happier than hiking with his family in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Athletic Zeb has summited MT. Washington, MT. Chocorua, and many of the White Mountain's 4000 footers. Zeb's self appointed job on the trail is to lead our pack of hikers but he always checks to make sure that the last person on the trail is never far behind. Zeb loves pulling. He entertains the kids by pulling the dog sled, the scooter, and the skateboard - but hold on tight! Zeb is VERY strong and you are guaranteed a fast ride!
Oh those Chinook kisses! Zeb won't stop giving kisses until he thinks you've had enough, and, as word of warning: if you laugh, be prepared for way more Chinook kisses than you thought were possible!
The other day, our ten year old daughter asked: "What was life like before we had Zeb?" Before we could even reply, she said: "It must have felt incomplete." That's it in a nutshell: We surely didn't know it then, but our lives are more wonderful and full since Zeb joined our family.
